William Fox-Pitt clinched a record sixth title at the Burghley Horse Trials on board Parklane Hawk on Sunday! He overcame wet conditions in the showjumping round to take the title on 40.7 points.
Prior to the competition, Fox-Pitt was level on five previous Burghley wins with fellow British rider Ginny Leng and New Zealand’s Mark Todd. ‘It really feels amazing to have won Burghley six times’ said Fox-Pitt. ‘For Toddy and Ginny to now be just behind me is very satisfying. They are legends and I've managed to beat them, but Toddy's still going!’
Mary King placed third on Kings Temptress, her winner at the Rolex Kentucky event in Lexington earlier in the year.
Fox-Pitt’s autobiography What Will Be and Mary King: The Autobiography are currently available in paperback.
