Congratulations to our Galaxy National Book Award shortlisted authors

Seven authors from the Orion Publishing Group have been shortlisted for the 2011 Galaxy National Book Awards.

Anthony Horowitz is nominated for UK Author of the Year; Ian Rankin for Thriller & Crime Novel of the Year category with The Impossible Dead; Ben Aaronovitch for New Writer of the Year; Keith Richards for Biography/Autobiography of the Year with Life; Téa Obreht for International Author of the Year; Lauren St John's Dead Man's Cove and Annabel Pitcher's My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece for Children’s Book of the Year; and Annabel Pitcher and David Tennant for Audiobook of the Year with My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece.

Featuring a mix of literary stalwarts and rising stars across eleven categories, the shortlists represent the best of British writing and publishing, and celebrate books with wide popular appeal, critical acclaim, and commercial success. Debut and International authors are not forgotten with two special awards dedicated to these categories.

The winners will be revealed on 4th November at a ceremony at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in London, which will be hosted by comedian Dara O'Briain. The awards will be filmed by Cactus TV, with a series of six programmes about the awards to be screened between 13th November and 17th December on More4.
